Public engagement is not finished when a survey closes. This is where the City reports what changed because residents spoke up.

71% supported moving parking inland if trail access and a drop-off were kept.
We did
Parking will move to the existing overflow field. A 10-minute drop-off remains at the trailhead.
Why. The flood study found the current lot is in the floodway. Relocating it is required for restoration funding and reduces closures after high water.

62% preferred Concept B: warmer pedestrian lighting along the sidewalk, with lower roadway fixtures. Residents also asked for lighting at the alley between Third and Fourth.
We did
The City selected Concept B and added a pedestrian light in the Third–Fourth alley. Roadway lighting will remain, at a lower height.
Why. Crash data showed two after-dark pedestrian incidents near Fourth Street. Sidewalk lighting was the highest-ranked night-safety request from residents and downtown employees who walk to their cars.

Survey extended through September 6At the request of downtown businesses, the streetscape survey will remain open through September 6. Paper copies are at City Hall and the library.
Main Street Safety Improvements
Temporary crossing at Fourth StreetA temporary marked crossing and signage were installed at Fourth and Main last week while the permanent design is completed.
Riverfront Park Redesign
Riverbank parking will move inlandThe flood study is complete. The existing 60-space lot along the river will be relocated. That decision is not being revisited; we are now asking how to use the recovered river edge.
